The sanitation department shall be supervised by the public works director and comprised of the supportive positions authorized in the budget document or as amended from time to time by the mayor and city council as requested by the city manager. The public works director shall be responsible for the timely retrieval of solid waste within the city and shall maintain routes and schedules to that end. The public works director shall be responsible for the effective training and supervision of his personnel and the maintenance and repair of all equipment under his control. He shall maintain records of his activities and perform additional duties as directed. |
