§ 7.05. Proceeding on Adoption of Proposed Budget

  • After public hearing, the council shall analyze the proposed budget, making any additions or deletions which it feels appropriate, and shall, at least ten (10) days prior to the beginning of the next fiscal year, adopt a budget by a majority vote. Should the council take no final action on or prior to such date, the then existing budget, together with its' [sic] tax-levying ordinance and its' [sic] appropriation ordinance shall be deemed to have been finally adopted by the council. No budget shall be adopted or appropriations made unless the total of estimated income and funds available shall be equal to or in excess of such budget or appropriations, except as otherwise provided in this article.
