§ 13.205. Powers and Duties

The park board shall have the following powers and perform the following duties:

(1)

To act in an advisory capacity to the city council in all matters pertaining to parks and recreation services.

(2)

To acquaint itself with and make a continuous study and inspection of the complete park and recreation services.

(3)

To follow a master planning guide for park buildings, structures, facilities, athletic areas or other improvements on park areas.

(4)

To recommend the adoption of standards on areas, facilities, programs and financial support.

(5)

To recommend to the city council rules and regulations governing the use of facilities.

(6)

To advise the director of parks and recreation services, city council and city manager of recommendations and reasons therefore.

(7)

To perform such other duties as the city council may prescribe by ordinance.
