§ 10.406. Regulation of Speed by Variable Signs
(a)
The city manager is authorized to use variable message traffic signs, as hereinafter described, to indicated speed limits in the zones as set out in Section 10.402(a) where there is a need to indicate different speed limits at particular times of the day due to hazards existing during those hours. Such different speed limit is herein after referred to as a temporary speed limit. the variable message traffic signs shall be designed in a manner approved in the manual on uniform traffic control devices for street and highways and shall consist of a standard with yellow sign faces. When the temporary speed limit is in effect, said speed limit and hours shall be posted accordingly. At all other time, the regularly established prima facie speed limit will continue in effect.
(b)
The city manager is hereby directed to cause the proper posting of variable message signs and the proper additions and entries made to the Bowie Code of Ordinances.
