§ 6.06. Recall Election

Within fifteen (15) days after the date of the filing of the recall petition, the city secretary shall certify the petition in the manner established for initiative petitions and present such petition to the council.

If the duly certified petition meets the requirements set forth, it shall be the duty of the council to order an election and fix a date for holding such recall election. The date of such election, if permitted by law, shall not be less than forty-five (45) days, nor more than sixty (60) days, from the date such petition was presented to the council, or on the next date thereafter on which election is permitted by law.
