§ 11.1401. Electrical Rate Schedules (amended November 17, 2015)

  • The electric utility rates to be charged to the customers of the city electric utility beginning with the first billing cycle in December, 2015, shall be as follows:

    (a)

    Schedule R (Residential)

    (1)

    Applicability : To single family residential customers where all energy is taken through a single meter. Service will be furnished under this rate schedule subject to the established rules and regulations of the city covering this type of service.

    (2)

    Character of service: A.C., 60 cycles per second, single-phase, 120/240; volts; three-phase, 120/208, 120/240, 240/480, 277/480, 2,400/4,160, 7,200/12,470 volts, as available at point of service.

    (3)

    Base rate:

    (A)

    Customer charge: $10.00 per month, plus

    (B)

    Distribution and wires charge: $0.0595per kWh for all kWh.

    (4)

    Minimum monthly charge: The customer charge plus applicable power cost on the Kilowatt hours used.

    (5)

    Billing adjustment: In addition to the base rate charges, each customer's monthly bill shall include an appropriate wholesale power and transmission charge as described in section 11.1402.

    (6)

    Tax adjustment: The above rate schedule shall be subject to an increase or decrease in proportion to the amount of new taxes or increased taxes which the city may hereafter have to pay which are levied or imposed or increased or decreased by law or ordinances which were not in effect on the effective date of this schedule.

    (b)

    Schedule SC (Small Commercial)

    (1)

    Applicable: To all non-residential customers billed through one (1) meter whose monthly peak demand is less than 50 kW. Service will be furnished under this rate schedule subject to the established rules and regulations of the city covering this type of service.

    (2)

    Character of service: A.C., 60 cycles per second, single-phase, 120/240 volts; three-phase, 120/240, 120/208, 240/480, 277/480, 2,400/4,160, 7,200/12,470 volts as available at point of service.

    (3)

    Base rate:

    (A)

    Customer charge: $20.00 per month, plus

    (B)

    Distribution and wires charge: $0.0470 per kWh for all kWh.

    (4)

    Minimum monthly charge: The customer charge plus applicable power cost on the kilowatt hours used.

    (5)

    Billing adjustment: In addition to the base rate charges, each customer's monthly bill shall include an appropriate wholesale power and transmission charge as described in section 11.1402.

    (6)

    Tax adjustment: The above rate schedule shall be subject to an increase or decrease in proportion to the amount of new taxes or (increased taxes which the city may hereafter have to pay which are levied or imposed or increased or decreased by law or ordinances which were not in effect on the effective date of this schedule.

    (c)

    Schedule LP-1 (Medium Commercial)

    (1)

    Applicable: To all commercial customers where service is taken through one (1) meter at one (1) point of delivery and whose monthly peak demand has been at least 50 kW and less than or equal to 500 kW within the past twelve (12) consecutive calendar months. Service will be furnished under this rate schedule subject to the established rules and regulations of the city covering this type of service.

    (2)

    Character of service: A.C., 60 cycles per second, single-phase, 120/240; volts; three-phase, 120/208, 120/240,240/480,277/480, 2,400/4,160, 7,200/12,470 volts, as available at point of service.

    (3)

    Base rate:

    (A)

    Customer charge: $30.00 per month, plus

    (B)

    Distribution and wires charge: $0.0468 per kWb for all kWb.

    (4)

    Minimum monthly charge: The customer charge plus applicable energy charge cost on the kilowatt hours used.

    (5)

    Billing adjustment: In addition to the base rate charges, each customer's monthly bill shall include an appropriate wholesale power and transmission charge as described in section 11.1402.

    (6)

    Tax adjustment: The above rate schedule shall be subject to an increase or decrease in proportion to the amount of new taxes or increased taxes which the city may hereafter have to pay which are levied or imposed or increased or decreased by law or ordinances which were not in effect on the effective date of this schedule.

    (d)

    Schedule LP-2 (Industrial)

    (1)

    Applicable: To all industrial customers where service is taken through one (1) meter at one (1) point of delivery and where the monthly peak kilowatt demand has been at least 500 kW Within the past twelve (12) consecutive calendar months. Service will be furnished under this rate schedule subject to the established rules and regulations of the city covering this type of service.

    (2)

    Character of service: A.C., 60 cycles per second, single-phase, 120/240 volts; three-phase, 120/240, 120/208, 240/480, 277/480, 2,400/4,160, 7,200/112,470 volts as available at the point of service.

    (3)

    Base rate:

    (A)

    Customer charge: $50.00 per month, plus

    (B)

    Demand charge: $3.00 per kW of monthly billing demand, plus

    (C)

    Distribution and wires charge: $0.0155 per kWh for all kWh.

    (4)

    Minimum monthly charge: The customer charge plus applicable power cost on the kilowatt hours used plus applicable demand charge on kWs used or calculated.

    (5)

    Billing adjustment: The cost of wholesale power and transmission to serve the customer includes, but is not limited to, capacity, delivery, energy and fuel charges for the billing period plus adjustments applied to the current monthly billing to account for differences in actual purchased electricity costs billed in previous periods. The wholesale power and transmission cost will be calculated using the billing units defined in the same manner as defined in the applicable wholesale rate to the city including any ratchet provisions in the wholesale rate. The customer's billing units for wholesale power and transmission cost may be adjusted for line losses, as determined by the city, to calculate the customer's wholesale power and transmission cost at the wholesale supplier's metering point to the city.

    (6)

    Billing demand: The billing demand shall be the maximum fifteen (15) minute interval measured in kilowatt demand in the billing period, but not less than sixty (60) percent of the peak demand measured in the preceding twelve-month period.

    (7)

    Power factor: Should the power factor be lower than 0.97 lagging, the city may adjust the measured demand by multiplying by the ratio of 0.97 to the actual power factor for the month.

    (8)

    Tax adjustment: The above rate shall be subject to an increase or decrease in proportion to the amount of new taxes or increased taxes which the city may hereafter have to pay which are levied or imposed or increased or decreased by law or ordinances which were not in effect on the effective date of this schedule.

    (e)

    Schedule SL (Security Lights)

    (1)

    Applicable: To service security lights installed and maintained by the city for customers at their request. Customers will be required to contract for this service for a period to be determined by the city. Service will be furnished under this rate schedule subject to the established rules and regulations of the city covering this type of service.

    (2)

    Character of service: Security lighting equipment, including lamps, fixtures, control units and the necessary security lighting circuits, transformers, guys, anchors, fittings, etc., will be furnished by the city subject to the payment of an installation fee as set up by the city.

    (3)

    Rate:

    (A)

    $11.00 per light per month.

    (4)

    Tax adjustment: The above rate schedule shall be subject to an increase or decrease in proportion to the amount of new taxes or increased taxes which the city may hereafter have to pay which are levied or imposed or increased or decreased by law or ordinances which were not in effect on the effective date of this schedule.
